North Luzon Invasion

Laoag-Pagudpud-Vigan Trip

November 30 - December 3, 2007

Attendees: Rose, Millet, Chickie, Mace, Niña, Tin, Kate

Tin, Niña and me opted for the long road to Ilocos, while the other four flew there via Cebu Pacific. The three road trippers (Tin, Niña and me) rode Fariñas transit; chose the daytrip, so the estimated time of arrival to Laoag City was at around 10:00-11:00pm.

After the gruelling 13hours or so bus ride from Manila to Laoag City, finally we set foot. Our service ride was already waiting for us and since we missed our dinner, we had a stop over first to a very reliable 24hour MCDO food chain, bought out take outs and then we headed to our hotel. Funny to learn that we were the only visitor in the hotel at that time. We had the hotel all by ourselves (ang saya!). Since, the three of us were tired from the very long, and i mean LONG road trip, we retired early so that we can get up early and start our escapade early on.

First day. Call time was 7-8am. Dapat by 8am, we already ate our breakfast. Iteneray was Pagudpud, Bangui Wind Mills, and the very famous Lighthouse. With our sunblock on, we headed out for the local ride going to Pagudpud. The group opted to do a back-packing style of traveling around the Ilocos Region, choosing to ride the tricycles, jeepneys and buses rather than renting a private van to take us around. Hoping to the mini bus going to Pagudpud with tons of photos taken. We hit a little bump on the road...the mini bus we took had an engine malfunction that we have to wait for the mechanic to get it fixed. So that made a toll on our timeline.
