Get-Together: Joey's Homecoming 2010

Last Saturday (December 18) Joey arrived from Doha, so I immediately asked for his availability for dinner the following night and communicated it to 2 other friends. We decided to have a dinner by 7pm, halfway meetup at Gateway Cubao, and decide from there were to dine. (ang hirap mag hanap ng suitable sched for all ha!)

December 19. Dinner was moved to 8pm (because of Joey) Buds and I met up first, Lucille then arrived after a few minutes. For dinner, Joey wants to have Filipino food, so we checked out Dencio's, he did not liked the ambience, then we checked out Cafe Adriatico's menu and found ourselves sitting at one of their tables set for 5.

As usual...kwentuhan galore muna bago ang lahat! Then we ordered. On the list was Gising-gising, Binukadkad na Plapla, Lechon with Kangkong, Sinigang na Bangus in tamarind at Chicken, at ciempre 5 cups of KANIN!

During kainan, daldalan pa din. Picture Galore. And how time goes by, 11pm na pala. Then nakita ni Tristan ang cake display at he can't resist the sweet temptation so he ordered three different cakes, 1 chocolate, 1 new york cheesecake, and 1 ala brazo de mercedes. yummy! BUSOG!

At siempre we all want to end the night with a little dose of alcohol. So isip kami where to go next. We checked out Mogwai at Cubao expo, puno; next we checked out another bar, puno din at hindi namin type yun area. So we decided na pumunta na ng Makati. On the way there, umuulan ng bongga. pag dating dun halos lahat ng bar sarado na, gusto nila sa cafe havana, kaso ang lakas ng ulan at wala na pwesto. Ending napunta kami sa Greenbelt 2, sa Spicy Finger. We had frozen margarita for Buds, mojito for Tristan, pina colada for joey and zombie for me - that's for round one only! for the second round I had strawberry daiquiri, mojito again for tristan, ciprizani for joey. (if i remember it right). oh well... we had enough and since Joey and Tris have an early flight to Boracay. We called it a night after the second round.

Christmas Parties

We had two Christmas Party held at the office. First was for the entire division, second was just for the group where I belong. For both party, I was part of the committee, but for the second party, I was the committee head.

For both parties, everything went well. Of course we had encountered some small problems along the way and on the actual party itself, but everything was solved. Everyone had a great time at the party.

During the Hot-Hats party, we held "Creative Hat Contest" and we were not disappointed with the contestant who entered. We had an extravagant Magsasaka inspired Christmas tree, Lady Gaga inspired Christmas Gift, and Electric Fan inspired umbrella as our top 3 contenders.

As per the ABCt Rock Royalty Christmas Party everyone enjoyed the games we prepared. Adult yet funny games. First game was the card relay, second was P&T game, and the very last was the old school TRIP TO JERUSALEM with a TWIST ;)

ENDING: Everyone had a blast!

Merry Christmas to all!

New House, New Life

December 1.
We transferred to our new house! woohoo!

It was tiring, since I came from work the night before. But its ok...I was full of adrenaline. Ewan ko ba, sobrang energized ako that day, kahit na wala pa akong tulog since nightshift and work ko. I counted, I was awake for more than 24hours--30 hours to be exact! whoa!
So after a waterhose of water in the house, nalinis ko din kahit papaano yun dumi sa baba. At after three trip ng aming "da boys" sa pag hakot ng mga gamit namin eh nakalipat din kami finally!
Right after the "last trip" kain galore. so much gutom! at hindi ko na kinaya ang pagiging dugyot ko, naligo na ako and i hit the sack! kahit basa ang buhok, dedma. borlog ever!
The following day, the morning after chaos, ayun chaotic pa din! hahaha..linis galore. sort-sort ng gamit.

I just wish na maging goodluck yun pag lipat namin.

Para easy breezy ang life! :)

But somehow..a few weeks already passed by, and I'm seeing some result of the easy breezy life...luvhet!!!

I Must Defy Gravity

The odds are all against me.

Had a rough time over the past few weeks...but as always, I must defy gravity. Need to pull all sources of strength in order to overcome this quake in my life

So far, lucky charm is on my side and never fails to amuse me with new and nice things going on around despite, me having such problems. At this point in time, I learn not to complain but just to be thankful of the small details that brings joy into my life -- like new found friends.

"the book" that caught my eye.

Friday morning. 6am. Still not the mood to go home and I just dont know why I don't have the urge to go home early. I think it was just one of those days that I want to stay out of the house. hmm. Stayed at the office, since some of my colleagues are still present and working on something, while I was messing around them - hehehe - had breakfast with them. After and hour or so of staying late at the office, we all went home.

On my way home, a friend coaxed me to meet him at Ayala MRT station and have breakfast together. Since I'm still not in the mood to go home, I did met up with him. First plan was to ate at McDonald's but we ended up at KFC :) Chat to the max, exchanges of stories and making sure that we will watch the Harry Potter 7 together this coming weekend. Talked about his bestfriend - my long overdue date! hahaha. oh well, hopefully that date will happen soom. We ended up the conversation past 11 in the morning. We parted ways.

I passed thru the Malls in Ayala. Went inside the department store for a while to check out some clothes and moved on since its already about noon and I should rest my head. However, I really have to make this stop at a book for less store. And glad thing that I did. A particular book caught my eye - hardbound, with a profile of a woman focusing on the lips as the cover and titled "The Lady, the Chef, and the Courtesan". I flipped it over and read the summary at the back and the inside page and there I read "According to a Latin American proverb, in order for a woman to discover her power over men, she must learn to be a lady in the living room, a chef in the kitchen, and a courtesan in the bedroom. After perfecting the grace and elegance of each, a woman will ultimately understand her own potential in life, and the command she has over everyone around her, including herself" - that paragraph really intrigued me so I did not let go of the book and try to look for another one since the book is 2 for 99pesos only. Luckily, I found another interesting book by Candace Bushnell - The Lipstick Jungle.

So after paying for the book, I went home. And started reading some pages of it. Will tell you more about it, once I'm done reading the book!

here were the book cover:

Just a thought...more of a Question...

When you think the world is falling down on you? What do you do to stay on top of everything else...to stay sane and be able to face all things going on at once...to say "I can do this on my own"? How? These are most common questions that we ask ourselved whenever faced with atrocities in life. That sometimes you just want to succumb to its power and just be a total failure.

I do feel this. Right Now.

And as I wrote this, I've been going back and forth with my thoughts on how I can get out of this mess and what I will do next.

Hay...

Life...why do you have to be so complex?

My Birthday Celebration

THIS POST WAS WAY PAST OVERDUE!

Plan was just to have dinner with friends and then report to work. But, good thing, my supervisor let me took the day off and spend the night partying with my friends..AND SO I DID!

I brought with me a bottle of tres cepas and a scotch/whisky. Was at my friend's office by 6pm. On the way home to their place at Cainta, we passed by and bought a box of pizza. The night started good. Laughters were everywhere! It was such a blast, not until alcohol sinked in to my vein and made me do crazy things! oh well...blame it on the alcohol! hahahah

But at the end of it all...I had a blast!

Counting the Days

By Friday, another year will be added to my existence. This made me wonder now if I grew a year in areas that I should have to?

Yes, No and Maybe would be my answers to that.

Apparently, day in and out, I'm still struggling to study myself. Honestly I have things planned out, but for some unfortunate reasons, I can't do it. Maybe the line "everything happens for a reason" should do the explanation about it. Even if I plan things a dozen, million or gazillion times, if it's not meant for me, it wont really be, but if it is, then fate has spoken.

I can truly say that I've been through so many things - life, love, career - and ready to face more; praying that I would have the strength to face them all one at time or all at once. ]

Now I am excited to face another year in my life.

Wishing for something? Of course. Who doesn't. But generally, I just want to live a happy life.

Proud to be GleeK!

I'm a Gleek! I must admit.

During the first season was able to watch it a couple of times. all the reruns and all.

My fave moments during the season one.
  • Madonna Episode
  • Lady Gaga Episode
  • When Kurt danced Beyonce's song in the football field
  • Of course, the very first episode was so hilarious!
  • Wheels episode
  • Acapfellas
  • Mercedes' thing for Kurt
Actually almost all! It was very entertaining!

Now with Season Two. They started it a bang!

Introducing a new characters like Coach Beiste replacing Ken Tenaka to lead the McKinley High football team after having an emotional breakdown from having his heart broken by Emma who was very much inlove with Mr. Schuester. They also showcased Filipino talent portraying the role of a foreign exchange student played by no other than Charice Pempengco (dropping her last name for the billing). Her name in the show was Sunshine Corazon (i wonder why Corazon? Is it after the Late Corazon Aquino??)

Rachel and Sunshine's first "battle" was the best! singing Telephone at the school's girl's bathroom and was more proud when Charice sang superbly Beyonce's Listen as her audition piece to the group. But the twist came towards the end when Charice was recruited by Vocal Adrenaline, New Direction's Rival at the show choir competition.

Oh, Quin is back as the head cheerleader of the Cheerios. Artie's relationship with Tina faded during the summer and now Tina is with Mike Chan, the other asian.

Then last night's episode was another brilliant production. Showcasing Britney Spears' songs over the years. The song and dance numbers were superb. Finally they show Brittany's talent in singing and dancing with her rocking body. She also revealed in the episode that her real name was Brittany S. Pierce.

Also another character introduced last night was Emma's dentist boyfriend played by John Stamos (who was so hot, I must say!)

Can't wait to watch next week's episode!

AA at 30

Last Saturday was the homecoming party of Artistang Artlets. WE marked our 30th anniversary as group this year. (yebbaa!!!)

Before last saturday arrived, we had several meetings first - all for planning and catching up. Actually, everytime we met, its more of catching up rather than planning hehehe..but hey we pulled it off!

It was on hell of a night.

Recounting my day last Satruday. It was a long day for me actually. My tagline was "umalis ng may araw, umuwi ng may araw". Here is the chronological list of what had transpired to my day last Saturday.

5pm - Entered the Wedding Expo
