Shopping with a Cause - USEC's Bazaar 2010

The United States Embassy Club (USEC) will be holding the 60th semi-annual Shoppers' Day Bazaar.

The bazaar is bigger and better than ever!
Admission is only 100 pesos per person (kids under 12 get in for free)
Approximately 300 artisans, exemplifying the best in Filipino workmanship, will offer their goods and crafts at bargain prices. Many customers have called our bazaar "shopping at its best."

All the proceeds from the bazaar, including those from the popular Shoppers' Day raffle, will fund a variety of local projects focused on improving the lives of needy Filipino citizens. These projects include:

Project Smile (for cleft palate and lip operations)
Friendship Home (outreach and after-school programs for needy children)
Little Children's Home and Shiphrah Birthing Center (orphanage and clinic for destitute women)
Reach Youth (food and educational programs for street children)
Trichet Learning Center (mainstreaming for disabled children)
Little Sisters of the Assumption (squatter area programs)
Peace Corps projects
Habitat for Humanity
Virlanie Foundation
Springboard Foundation
Merit-based university scholarships (for children of U.S. Mission national staff employees)
Emergency Relief
Street Children Outreach

Raffle tickets, on sale for P50 each, are available through USEC members and at the bazaar with plenty of opportunities to win beach resort and hotel stays, restaurant gift certificates, airline tickets and vouchers, home decorations, art, clothing and accessories. There will also be a silent auction for laser eye surgery. You do not need to be present to win one (or more!) of our many prizes.

To add to your shopping enjoyment, we have packing, courtesy of Lane Moving and Storage, a baggage check area, to allow you to shop "hands free," and great new food vendors for when you need a shopping break.

Open from 9am to 5pm, there is plenty of time to shop at Shoppers' Day.

So why not shop and in return help a good cause!
