Typhoon Basyang

Last night (July 13, 2010) the Typhoon Basyang made its landfall at 9pm (according to PAGASA's weather bulletin as of 11pm)

I was at the office when everything happened. At around midnight, me and my colleagues went down to the ground floor to have lunch, after doing so we went at the building lobby to check how the weather was. And boy, it was not a good site to see! It's like Ondoy all over again but this time the wind, its gustiness, is the main act, not like ondoy that its had more precipitation. It was a scary sight to see.

Back again at the 36th floor. A few hours later, we experienced electricity fluctuations. We were stuck at the 36th floor, elevator is not working, no ac, we are on generator, and the scaring part was some people were trapped inside the elevator. You can hear the wind banging the window. People started to complain, it was so hot, most of us were starving (thankfully, I had an early lunch). It was not a good experience. Basically, after that frightful landfall, Manila was in total blackout. News says that it will be within 1-2 days more to fully restore the electricity for the entire Metro Manila.

Thankfully after all of that, everyone in the office was ok, including their families left  at home. Eventually we were able to go home safely and rest.
